MANDATE: Victim Services of Temiskaming & District is a non-profit, community based program that provides
immediate crisis assistance through specially trained staff who are on-call to area
police and emergency services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
OUR MISSION - To lessen the emotional trauma experienced by victims of crime or tragic
circumstances by providing confidential immediate emotional support, practical assistance, information and
community referrals.
Organization Overview
Victim Services of Temiskaming & District is governed by a Voluntary Community Board, consisting of a Chair,
Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and additional community members. The Board's roles and responsibilities are
guided by a set of By-Laws.
Our staff consists of an Executive Director, Program Coordinators in each Temiskaming and
Kirkland Lake areas.
Our Team provides on-scene and telephone support on a 24/7 basis.
Victims and their families requiring immediate support are referred to Victim Services while Emergency Personnel
and the Police are on-scene. Victims, families and friends of those who have been traumatized as a result of crime, and/or
tragedy can seek support without police involvement may call into the Victim Services Office, during regular business
hours to access services under our Outreach and Victim Quick Response programs.

For emergencies, please call 911. Crisis Intervention Services are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Outside of office hours Police, Hospital, Fire & Rescue and Paramedic Services may contact Victim Services on behalf of the
victim via an emergency line.
